The Bondurant-Farrar Education Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting high quality programs, activities, and facilities for our students. The Foundation partners with the Bondurant-Farrar Community School District to create opportunities for alumni, friends, and the community to support and enhance educational excellence.
The Bondurant-Farrar Education Foundation is an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting high quality programs, activities, and facilities for our students. The Foundation partners with the Bondurant-Farrar Community School District to support and enhance educational excellence, both today and in the future. As a non-profit organization, the Foundation raises funds to bridge the gap created by insufficient government funding to our public school.
The Foundation was established in 2009, with the first Party of Blue Jays held in 2012. At that time, the District was struggling financially and boasted a significant negative solvency ratio. In addition, educational costs continued to rise while state funding did not. Contrary to most of the state, the District experienced a significant annual student growth rate. The Foundation was established to try to relieve some of the financial pressures on the District.
Student growth and associated costs continue to rise and state funding continues to decline. The Bondurant-Farrrar School District has chosen to continue to fund existing successful programs and support new programs like the 1 to 1 initiative at the high school. This passion for student excellence is why the Foundation continues to be a necessity.
The Foundation has raised over half a million dollars. Of the money raised each year, the majority is returned to the schools the following year and the remainder is placed in an endowment for long term support of the District. With the dollars raised, we have purchased countless items for classrooms and fine art and athletic programs. A sampling of the purchases include: library books, carts of iPads, special education materials, new curtains and sound system for the auditorium, new instruments, art supplies, exercise equipment, protective pads for Middle School gym walls, hurdles for the new athletic complex and a climbing wall for Anderson elementary school. Funding is also provided for field trips, mini grants for teachers, student council activities, and support of the Bondurant’s BEST program.
The Bondurant-Farrar Education Foundation is only successful through the generous support of friends, alumni, and supporters of the Bondurant-Farrar Community School District. To continue our legacy, we need your continued commitment of time, talents, and financial resources. Thank you for supporting education in your community.
